The Memory of History (Photo Album) During World War II a common strategic need resulted in China and the United States opening the Hump air route in order to conduct an air offensive against the Japanese invaders. This series records the battles that took place, and how the Chinese people aided and rescued American pilots. The people of the two countries have never forgotten that period of history, and been maintaining their ties of friendship after World War II.
