Some Chinese Ghosts is a collection of ghost stories based on Chinese tales, rich in atmosphere, authentic in tone, and almost without exception very good stories. It was surprising to me that most Chinese ghosts are not villainous, but are actually the heroes who gave their lives out of duty and remain behind to remind the living of their sacrifice. If you liked Dunsany's Pegana stories, you should enjoy Fantastics as well, but almost any reader is going to enjoy Hearn's collection of Chinese ghosts."
